Re: Honda 9.9hp Outboard Won't Start

Thanks, everyone. It's a pull starter, and we hear a click in the engine when we pull it. I know some of you said that's not possible, but that's what it sounds like. No turning over, as I said. I'll...

Re: Honda 9.9hp Outboard Won't Start

All of those things were done properly. I'm not sure how old the gas is, since it came from the previous owner. Could be an issue. If that's it, is it normal not to get anything other than a click...

Re: Composting Toilets vs. Holding Tank

This is all great information and debate. One thing that no one has touched on is the fact that the boat currently has no holding tank. So I was wondering about installing that vs. a composting head....

Honda 9.9hp Outboard Won't Start

Hi all,
I'm extremely new to sailing and have never had much experience with mechanical/electrical things of any kind, including automotive. So I'm hoping I'm just doing something wrong and it will...

Re: Composting Toilets vs. Holding Tank

Good to know, Mike. What do you do to dispose of the waste?

Re: Composting Toilets vs. Holding Tank

I was sort of leaning that way after reading the article. I feel that the lower maintenance and fewer parts would be a real bonus for a composting toilet.

(Also, thanks for the search tips!)

Composting Toilets vs. Holding Tank

I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but I'm new to boating and couldn't find a thread on this topic.

We recently bought a 1976 Catalina 27 with no holding tank. We'd like to live on board,...

Re: Wind & Solar

I would also be happy to learn about this! While I don't yet have a boat, or even know how to sail, that is my ultimate goal, so I'm trying to learn as much as possible about self-sufficiency.

Re: To Start It Off

The song "Sea of Possibilities" by Jason Hayward is great as a sailing song, although it wasn't originally intended for that purpose. In fact, he's looking for footage of sailing to make a music...
