Re: Retiring soon...

Good luck and have fun!

BTW - The actual sailing part of the plan is easy to learn, don't let people try to convince otherwise. You can learn the sailing just as well living on the boat in a nice...

Re: Good Small Boat for Older, Fatter Woman to learn on

Re: Lifespan of a Diesel Engine

My manual says it is Ok to idle the engine, just every couple of hours to rev it up to 3000 rpm a couple of times.

I get the feeling that not many people ever read their manuals and instead follow...

Re: Maine bound & back

I go around the Cape and never do the Annisquam. Far as stops I've made along the way:

Re: Boston Area Recommendations?

NE Riggers will come to your marina.

Re: Rebel Heart Lawsuit Dismissed

I'm on a few sailing forums; if I run into a sailing problem I'm going to sue them for all the "advice" I've gotten over the years.

Re: Need advice on choosing a Boat

My thoughts are that buying a smaller boat with a planned update is just throwing money away. BTW - a 29' boat is still just a small boat/

Re: Boat Loan

I've gotten 2 15 year term boat loans the past 6 years. 1 was from Essex on a $72k boat and current is with Suntrust on a $115k boat. Both were with 20% down and during the recession.

Re: House Battery Talk

I have golf cart type batteries and only check the water every couple of months, but if you really don't want to check the water the AGMs are the way to go.

But before you do anything you should...

Re: Head hose: How long does it take to permeate

Re: Hunter 41

It isn't a worry, I've pounded mine for years and the rig still is standing. There are 1000s of B&R rigged boats and cats without backstays around doing just fine.
