I might have to take your advice on the positive flotation, because I realized the awhile ago sailing that those compartments aren't very reliable.. It'd take a lot to keep this boat up if it starts...

I'm just happy that right now boating laws are fairly lax enough to let me do whatever I want to do.. I think that very soon local governments will want to stop handling this issue on a case by case...

What should the restrictions be until they're 18 though? I'd be very ticked if I could be hailed at any moment for sailing alone on my lake.. I love singlehanding, it's an entirely different sport.....
