Top Marine is a good insurance company for these water, usually 1% of hull value per year, full coverage...USCG documentation is a good idea..or check out the langkawi small ships...

I think you are having trouble fitting the socket over the bolt because of the clearance between the exchanger body and the bolt head. If so you will have to use open end wrench.

Sometimes when the coolant and header tank gets hot, those rubber boots expand and leak, leaving dried salts around the outside edges. I replaced the rubber end caps on a Perkins 4108 several years...
