It wasn't a used sail, it was a new one. But the situation has been resolved and is over. Thanks for any helpful input, all the other input should be posted on Facebook.

Just an update and an end to all this that I feel is only fair to share. Peter Colby The manager of North Sails phoned us up and apologized for this whole mess. He had not heard anything about it...
