Re: $854,400 in Fuel Spill Liability?

I know of a boat that had a leak. After they left the fuel dock the CG just followed the trail of fuel to them. VERY hefty fine.

Welcome to SailNet. I moved your post into its own thread to not confuse things with the original question.

Re: Thoughts on this Macgregor 25

My first boat was a Venture 2-22 (later bought by Macgregor) and the pictures you post show a lot cleaner and better condition interior and sails than what I bought. Nothing stands out to me if the...

Re: Shao NPO

To be honest, I only looked at your website to see if you were in violation of SailNet rules. While one part of me thinks, if you're sincere and not really just looking to have others pay for your...

Re: Shao NPO

I looked at your website. Interesting that "aid" is last on your list. Poetry being first. That's quite a mission statement. Where does the "expedition" fall in the agenda?

Re: When do coast guard regulations not apply?

The last time I mentioned the Local Notice to Mariners on SailNet I received a sarcastic response for reading it, but, well, I do. It comes out each Tuesday or Wednesday and I look to see what might...

Ha! Gary's a sweetheart. I've met his wife. She'll be gentle with the frying pan. :)

How gentle I am will be in direct proportion to how much you'll pay me not to tell on you to Mrs. D. :)

Re: Buying a boat without a sea trial-what might we miss?

Does the owner not have a choice in the sea trial? I thought it was the potential buyer who had the choice not to offer if a sea trial wasn't allowed.

Agree that not wanting the sea trial is a...

Re: Towing Services

I had to get towed from right in front of my marina. The bill would have been over $800 if I hadn't had the BoatUS towing. Paid for itself for a few years.

Re: Pirates bight at norman island reopens after “make over”

Re: Buying a boat without a sea trial-what might we miss?

Just wondering: the OP said "counter offer." That means, I think, that he offered a price already and the seller is coming back with another number. So, if he already put in one offer and said...

Re: Maryland user tax for out of state boat

I think you are correct. Things may have changed, but when I bought my first boat in PA and moved it to MD, I only had to show proof that I paid sales tax to PA. They didn't request anything beyond...

Re: light duty vs heavy duty

What's your budget? There are some "blue water" boats with swing keels or centerboards. Southerly, some Tartans, some Bristols, some Hinckley (I believe).

Re: Right Sailboat for Severn River??

volsail, welcome to Sailnet.

I think for the information that you want, a poll isn't what you need. Just post your question as a regular message.
