Re: PHRF Ratings

What I am trying to do is get an idea of how the boats handle, kind of hard to do without actually sailing one. The only boats that I have been able to find for charter are either not on my buy list...

Re: PHRF Ratings

Was that the Ron Holland Swan 42 from the early 80's?

Re: PHRF Ratings

Thanks

I ordered volumes 4 and 5. The older books don't have a preview option to see which boats are included.

Re: PHRF Ratings

I was looking at the Crealock 40, which was rated at 168. I just saw the PSC 40 rating of 150. Weird that they rate the same boat differently.

Re: PHRF Ratings

I am just trying to get a feel for how the 40/44 sail out on the water. None of the rating lists I looked at showed the type of keel the PSC's were rated with (deep/scheel). I would have thought that...

PHRF Ratings

I am still in the market for a 37-45 foot blue water cruiser and will probably pull the trigger in a month or so. I am looking at Valiants, Swans (431, 43, 44)' and PSC 37/40/44. I want a responsive...

Re: Toe Rail Conversion

I know Swan makes their own toe rails, there was one S&S (47?) that ordered new ones from the factory at $14K per side.

Toe Rail Conversion

Has anyone converted their teak toe rail cap to aluminum? We are shopping for a 37-44 footer with the "maintenance free" option (no exterior teak) but have not seen one in a few years. Any idea what...

Yawl to Cutter Conversion

I am in the market for a new boat in the 40 foot range. I spotted an older 37 PSC yawl on the west coast (where I am looking to live) and was wondering how hard it is to do the conversion. Not really...

Re: Fuel Tank

Practical Sailor did an article on tanks and if I remember correctly they did not like aluminum tanks for water or fuel. At least you don't have to rip the boat apart to replace them a la Island...

Re: Galley sinks in Crealock 37

I saw that a few weeks ago. I think it would be simpler to just get a new 8" sink.

Re: Galley sinks in Crealock 37

I was on a 40' and roughly measured the sinks as 8" deep, are the sinks on the 37 ten inches deep? Are the new boats the same?

Re: Aluminum toe rail leak?

According to the PSC sales brochure, they do use adhesive along with the bolts.

Re: Aluminum toe rail leak?

Big difference between $3K and $40K for a job, are we all talking about Pacific Seacrafts?

Re: PSC 37 Solar array solutions

I have seen pictures of an arch that looks like it is part of the stern railing rather than an add-on. I will try to find the picture, I would like to know if it is a factory option or a custom build.

Lurker Says Hi!

Been a member for a while and just started posting. Married no kids, we currently have a newer 36.7 and are looking to get a full-on cruiser. Will retire in the next 2 years and start living aboard.

PSC 37 Storage

Does anyone have any pictures of the storage areas on the 37? All of the boats for sale and dealer web sites show plenty of exterior and interior shots but nothing that gives me any idea of how much...

New Boat Prices

We are shopping for the next, hopefully final boat. I like the 40' but the price is a bit out of our comfort zone. We have not been to a PSC dealership yet and were wondering if anyone has had any...
