Re: Blue Water Boat vs. Production Boat Which one will you book passage on?

You missed my point. I like Alberg's designs, they just look right. But the OP wanted to force a choice between an Alberg 30 and a Beneteau fifty something for an ocean crossing. Now that comparison...

Re: Blue Water Boat vs. Production Boat Which one will you book passage on?

An Alberg 30 has about the same useable space as a Catalina 27. Just enough for a weekend. For two. The either/or choice is just foolishly trying to force a moot point.

Also, at 50+ knots you are into "storm anchor" sizing. What sizes are your anchors?...

Re: Wicked Cold Maine Delivery

I know. That's the only reason I'm down here. When I get cold, everything stops working.

Re: New to sailing and thinking of getting a sailing dinghy.

Get a boat with a main and jib that can later accommodate a spinnaker. Better for learning sail handling in a variety on conditions.
Get a boat with positive flotation so you can take a devil may...

Re: Steel vs Fiberglass

Okay, here's the clincher. Why plastic over steel? So as you sail about the world you don't have to worry about magnetic sea mines.
There you go, discussion over.

Re: Steel vs Fiberglass

This has been fun and interesting to read. Opinion, facts, data and interpolations all serving the need to talk about all things boating. However steel vs GRP is rapidly becoming moot. While there...

Re: Overheating, cooling or exhaust system issue?

I think you will find your answer about the stand pipe on the Moyer site. I remember reading there about stand pipes on various boats and I'm pretty sure the E32 was included in the discussion....

I don't feel that way one little bit about my life today. I don't feel threatened at all, nor am I stifled. I don't fear the government(s) as much as I do international corporations and most of them...

I agree with all of the above, especially Hi-Mod as they make it much easier to know that the wires are correctly fitted inside the fitting through the use of a grooved compression ferrel. I have...
