Re: Qutting our jobs to go sailing is a good idea, right?

For my wife and I, it makes more sense. Disregarding the money end of it, it's just more fun. We are both retired with incomes, so why sit on the porch in a rocking chair? We both totally love...

Sounding less relaxing by the minute. Kind of the same as dodging all the crab pots down the SW Florida coast. I don't run there at night, fog or not. BTW, look out for us other boats out there...

Re: Dark and Foggy

It doesn't sound like much fun to me. I guess your wife doesn't think so either? Hopefully, your AIS and radar are in good working order. There is always something to hit out there....or something...

Re: 1989 Hunter 40 - A million questions.

Shut Yo Mouth! My little Yanmar better go another few thousand hours. I talk to it most days. Feed it some yummy oil and clean fuel, and don't push it too hard. An engine failure would not be...

Re: Cruising Costs

Probably worth it to not be in the Leewards this year. You must have had a little voice telling you "it's time to go!"

Re: 1989 Hunter 40 - A million questions.

I could ask then...why didn't you question the work they did? Didn't you feel that something was not right?

I'm not picking on you. The fact is - maybe you didn't know for sure if your...

Re: Voyaging on $500 per month

I'm not sure if there has been a post here about this, but I'll put it out there.

First, we left with less money than we had planned on. After selling the home and all the stuff, we had a pretty...

I hope to meet up with some of you new cruisers in the future. We're heading back east from Texas in October. This will be our second time, after cruising for 2 1/2 years and 5000 miles. A couple...
