Same problem coming from hot water heater. Never knew there was a zinc in it. Pulled it out and it was entirely gone. Drained what was left in and installed new zinc. PROBLEM WAS GONE.

I installed dinghy davits on my boat. I had to remove the motor lift since it was in the way. I use the dinghy davits to hoist the motor.
I bring the dinghy up to the stern, remove the hoist line...

Absolutely correct. Without the check valve the hot water seeps back into the cold water line.

Similar problem and replaced hoses. Still smelled it although not so bad. Took a long time for the smell to leave the wood and other stuff in the area where the bad hoses were.:o

I have a Universal M18 and manual says is has a governor. Should be able to run at full throttle since the governor prevents it from running at too high rpms. I don't have a tack so have no idea...

Just in case someone missed it, the annual Oday rOnDAYvous will be held in New London Ct, Thames River during SAILFEST. Dates are July 11th through the 13th. Anyone needing info just reply here.:D

The motor should be on the dinghy transom in which case mine is wood.
The wood is the lifting point so I would believe there is no stress on the rest of the dinghy. I keep the drain plug open and...
