Re: What the heck is this?

There is no way to say what it is with the info provided.

However, consider this....
The meter wires are really small telephone wires, 22 or 24AWG. they can't carry much current.

The Batt...

Re: Heavier better motion comfort ?

If you are talking the yacht he rode in the Atlantic in 2013, pictured in post #15, that is the RV Ault, a 42' Colvin Gazell.

12' beam
4' 6" draft
25,000 lbs displacement.

Re: Heavier better motion comfort ?

Re: Multi-Day Offshores: The Elephant In The Salon

Just a quick point, how many new production boats have sea berths or pilot berths? Any?

Our 33 has two proper pilot berths above and behind the settees. The saloon is small but can be safely...

Re: Sailing off to live on a deserted island

Actually, in eastern
Canada it is quite doable, if you don't mind the cold and ice. There is quite a bit of shoreline that is remote but still reasonably close to a small town. Even some small...

Re: bilge pumps in series, ok?

I just reworked the bilge system in our boat. It has a very weird bilge, essentially 2 feet of 3" pipe buried in the concrete of the aft keel section.

I have a large manual diaphragm pump with...

Re: Sailing Knives and Multi-tools!!! Show 'em off here!

Re: Another boat lost in Atlantic

I'm really against the idea of more regulation.
