Re: Jabsco Head leak

Of course I tried the easy way out, first. Removed the old base plug and inserted the new plug. The old one didn't look any worse for wear. However, the leaking stopped.

I'll try it as is for...

Jabsco Head leak

Hi all. I have the newer Jabsco Twist n Lock Manual toilet. It came with our US Yacht 25. Last fall, I winterized it as per the manual. However, I did leave the base plug inserted (think the...

Re: Marina Frozen

You gotta love neighbors. Cape Dory next slip over. I texted him other day about all the ice. He must have had a bubbler, but didn't know it was that bad. I went there this am. He placed the...

Re: Marina Frozen

Thank You.

We are just off the Columbia River, in a protected area with little or no tidal swing (river minimal current as well this time of year). I have a little West Marine heater running,...

Marina Frozen

Just as we thought Spring was coming, mother nature gives a stern reminder.

My US Yacht 25 is moored here on the Columbia river. We finally got our cold spell and the entire marina was frozen...

Re: Don't "drive" your boat like it's a car!

This may be a reposting. There is a wonderful 80 minute seminar on utube on docking techniques, from the Tom Tursi of the Maryland School of Sailing. I liked it so much, purchased the companion...

Re: Don't "drive" your boat like it's a car!

Great topic! Have sailed Chinook (US Yacht 25) less than a year now. She's in a slip, and docking is one thing I'm definitely deficient at. It's usually solo. I've done all the beginner mistakes...

Genoa measuring, help please.

Hi!

I am in the market for new/slightly used Genoa for my US Yacht 25. I took my trusty 30' tape measure and took measurements.

I'm getting confused with regard to the foot of the sail,...

furlers and swageless fittings

HI!
I have a 25’ US Yacht, with a Harken 00AL furler. I replaced the standing rigging, and it
appears the forestay is a couple inches too long. The upper forestay is swageless, the lower...

Polarity of LED lights

Hi all,

Just rewired the mast. Changed all lights to LED's. On the instructions, and in "This Old Boat", they mention making sure the polarity is correct when wiring. I do have a new digital...

Re: Rewiring Mast. What Gauge?

Didn't mean to open up a big can of worms, but thanks, all!

Kedjujo: For the LED's, I went with Marinebeam, and Dr. LED. Can't say how I'm satisfied yet, as am installing this weekend. Prices...

Crimping Different Guages question

I'm switching the mast lights to LED. While the mast is down, figured would replace all the wiring ('82 US Yacht).

The LED lights vary from 18 to 20 gauge wiring. I'd like to use fourplex tinned...

Re: Raised chainplate deck fittings question

Thanks! One other question. So the new chainplate mount is basically epoxy resin, with some filler. The old screws for the chainplate cover looked like wood screws and didn't go very deep. Can I...

Re: Step Mast holes stripped

Thank You all! Correct about the "machine screws", not "bolts". You've given me some good feedback, and refilling with resin or tap a larger hole sound like nice options. I would feel better if...

Step Mast holes stripped

Hi. Have a US Yacht 25. Mast is down. Thought I'd check and re-do the mast plate to hull connection.

There are 4 bolts that connect stepplate to hull. The way I removed them, two forward longer...
