Fix it! I replaced the SS pennant a couple of times due to corrosion. That was before strong synthetics were on the scene.

If your mast is anodized try WD-40. It's very easy to apply, removes dirt and leaves a little shine. Simple.

Consider yourself lucky. Sierras are found in West Marine, Napa, and chandleries. My Westerbeke P/N was printed on the Sierra label. They were even the same price. What could go wrong? Bad...

As Bob Perry says: any small boat less than 100' can be uncomfortable offshore.
