Re: Tartan 3700 issues, PLEASE!

Chief,

From a blurb I saw the other day, Jacket is designing the power boats. Hopefully that is ALL he is doing.

I know some folks with a C&C 115 that had some gelcoat issues, that eventually...

Re: Tartan 3700 issues, PLEASE!

I would agree with David on this. I have not heard that the current owners are going to honor older models with warranty issues. So if one is buying a boat that has one of the 15 yr warranties that...

Re: Jeanneau 349 microsite

Another issue with him is, His boat was used for the CW/SW SBOY reviews etc. So it may very well look like an employee, but not.

Re: Tartan 3700 issues, PLEASE!

Reality is, if you like the boat, buy it!

Boats are like women, or men I suppose.....there is one for every one!

Overall, Tartan has built very nice boats, a step up from the more common price...

Re: trailer sailor vhf

I got an ICOM M36 recently. It has a voice clear option that cuts a lot of static that most radio's have. If you have an issue with hearing as I do, this one is a nice option.

Like all things...

Re: Jeanneau Attalia

My winches were Barbarossa's, same as Harken, use all harken parts etc, as harken bought the Barbarossa plant. Lewmar is a bit different on the how to pull apart, but at the end of the day, I service...

Re: Jeanneau Attalia

I've found the window leak to be the caulking at the top of my window. Black boat life product has worked the best. Usually an every 3-4 yr remove and replace. I have not tried tightening the screws...

Re: Why are wheels so big?

There were for a bit, a bunch of the more recent TP52's that had tillers vs wheel combo's of the double or single sort.

Probably depends upon...

Re: Looking for premium coastal cruiser 39 LOA or less

Look for some of the rigs, ie mostly european mind you, that have fractional rigs. Changing out jibs is not needed, only can you furl a main.

Then get a small sprit with a top down furler for the...

Re: Looking for premium coastal cruiser 39 LOA or less

Locally there are some swans in the low 40' range, from the 70's no less, 175-250K depending upon upkeep/grades on them. Can not see spending that amount, when I can get a Jeanneau 36i as some...

Christian,

You ARE smoking good stuff. The really nice brands will not be that cheap, unless we are talking in the 40' and under range. Bigger nicer swans, oysters etc hang on to there value...

Re: Really, $1000.00 for foulies?

Have to say, one of the better rain coats if you will, is a WM branded coat I bought a couple of years ago. Better than the Spider, Marker, Hard Core and a few other long since gone brands of ski...

Re: Silly Anchoring Question

It was Gary ie travelineasy that was using the 5' depth of water, then use 10-1 chain for a max 50' of rode, not a lot of swing. As I was trying to note.....where I am, and my draft of...
