Newport Charter

This US Northeast forum seems pretty bare, so I thought I'd post about my plan. Leaving this weekend on a charter out of Newport. I'll probably try

Cuttyhunk
Edgartown
Nantucket (with a lay day)...

Newport and other northern charters

Looking for a northern charter destination for mid-August. We've chartered in the Pacific Northwest (Anacortes and Nanaimo) and Maine.

I was considering Maine again but also became aware of...

Re: Nanaimo - Princess Louisa Inlet in early July

I'm in Pender tonight and shopped at the IGA. On the way back from a lovely trip to PLI.

Re: Nanaimo - Princess Louisa Inlet in early July

So here’s my plan:

Anchoring in Smuggler’s Cove the first night out of Nanaimo, instead of Secret Cove or Pender.
Egmont, maybe in a marina, the second night to top off before heading to PLY....

I remember you posting, but you're right, not there now. Weird. Or Gremlins.

Re: Sailnet Members from around the world check-in please.

I live in South Florida. Grew up with a Morgan 34 on Tampa Bay (and some time on Chesapeake Bay).

Don't own a boat now but try to charter once a year. Have chartered in the BVI, Maine, San Juan...

Re: First time chartering in BVI flotilla with kids

...and you've probably already heard this, and your flotilla should take care of it, but with kids a trip to The Baths, and specifically taking the hike through the boulders, is a must.

The first...

Re: First time chartering in BVI flotilla with kids

I ordered provisions the first couple of times I chartered in the BVI, but always wound up with leftover items I didn't care for. The last time we got a ride from the Moorings to the grocery store -...

Re: Which Catamaran should I choose?

I agree that 9 people sounds like a lot. I charted a Moorings 4600 last year with ten berths that would have worked well (no sleeping in the salon required).

Besides four doubles, there's a nice...

Re: Princess Louisa Inlet - lots of motoring?

Great blog, Livia, thanks for posting those links. Glad to be heading to PLI in July instead of February!

Though it's always nice to have a remote place to one's self.

Re: Nanaimo - Princess Louisa Inlet in early July

Thanks, Faster. Hoped I would hear from you!

I had not noted Sturt Bay so that's an option if I go north. But if I get to PLI it probably makes sense to stay two nights and not bother with Comox....

Nanaimo - Princess Louisa Inlet in early July

I'm doing a one-week charter in early July and thinking of going to PLI from Nanaimo. I posted about this in January and had some very helpful replies, so wanted to throw it out there again now that...

Princess Louisa Inlet - lots of motoring?

Brand new here...first time post.

I'm just starting to plan a charter for next summer. Have gone twice out of Anacortes and am thinking of trying farther north, maybe Nanaimo.

Going up to...
