see i think your doing it wrong ? i use the jib for heading into the marina and douse the main while approaching the markers this way i have better control of speed, momentum and direction

then you should have all the control you want even if this means coming about at the last second to achieve this

they have it in the pool with the mast on learning how to right it so when they do flip it they can recover it themselves....

and i have 6 kids we sail all the time the best part is its trailerable .
its currently in dry storage at lake pleasant for less than $100 a month and its very blue water capable

Wink baosun you should read the article

actually the easiest fix is to anchor from the stern and i do it all the time.
we sleep well on the water ever since.
also helps with cabin ventilation
