Re: New to Sailing. Looking for Advice.

My advice - Sail! Dinghy sail. Day sail. Crew on a race boat. Do some weekend cruising. Get to know the boat, get to know each other as crew, and get to know the basics. There's no substitute for...

Re: Accidently Aged Rum...

Re: Tartan 37 or Irwin 38 Mark II CC

Very different boats, as noted by those above. If you're priorities are sailing performance and potential bluewater passage making, the Tartan is likely the better choice. If you want a roomy cabin...

Re: Cruiser versus motor sailer

What is it about a motorsailer that appeals most to you? I know you said space, but that can be had in spades aboard 42-60' bluewater cruisers, particularly for a crew of two. They all also have...

If you're gonna pack heat on the water, at least do so on a cat because they roll less and sail flat, making aiming much easier. Right?

What's his intended use? Daysailing? Weekending? Cruising? Racing?

The Tartan and Sabre are good places to start. If it were me with that budget and need, I'd also consider:

-Caliber 40: a bit...

How do they know it was a "notorious" pirate? I read the article and didn't see any speculation about an identity, other than to say it was likely a pirate put to death and displayed to warn other...

I'm mostly immune to the recent Patreon push and the "buy us a beer" buttons. I have absolutely no issues with folks implementing these campaigns and so far they don't detract from my reading/viewing...

Re: outboard without reverse gear

Our Honda 2hp has no reverse and it's no big deal to simply spin the motor around. In fact, I like the 360 degrees of thrust. What I don't like is not having neutral. To stop movement I have to shut...
