Re: Buehler Emily

Definitely worth checking out. Buehler describes it as a "small" 30 footer and he's right- it's not a boat with the cabin space of a Catalina 30, but for a single cruiser or a couple who like each...

Re: Starting to look for a boat

Your budget is about 80-130K too high.
I am more than happy to spend someone else's money, but a couple of your data points gave me pause:
Limited helm time, always been crew on OPB
non-sailing...

Re: smallest electric start?

my understanding, Squidd, is that your thinking is spot on. From what research I have done and my own experience, a 50-55 lb thrust trolling motor produces about the same push as a 3 hp...

Re: My new dinghy, thank you

Until you walk across it and track it all over the boat, and get it all over yourself when you flip the boat over to stow it bottom up on deck. Bottom paint is a great idea for a dinghy that lives...

Re: My new dinghy, thank you

it would waste about 4 hp, stress the transom and be really nose high. We get by with 2.5 on ours, hits 5 knots at half thottle. a 5 hp would be more than ample without adding too much weight to...

Re: Which 27 ??

Good on ya. if you've looked at more than a handful of boats and your gut pulls you back to one, and you have justified eliminating the other options, what the hell, pull the trigger. Buying a boat...

Re: smallest electric start?

SWMBO hated our old yamaha no- recoil- point-and-shoot 2 stroke. She hated the process of choke, throttle speed, wrap-and-rip, try again, try again, try again... so, it had to go. Last season we...
