Try just a really good cleaning. The deck may not look so bad when clean in full sun.

I paint my deck with a one part urethane every two to three years. Most one part paints will last a few years...

An good afternoon shake-down sail would be just outside the red channel markers (Pea Patch Island side) to the overhead power line towers and back to Delaware City. About a 2 hour round trip.

Be flexible, research the inlet tidal current and near shore currents, but be ready for the wind and near shore breeze to not cooperate. Have an alternate plan ready if needed.

It is possible to lift minwax Polyshades in the first few days maybe a week with mineral spirits on a cotton cloth. It will not get all the stain off but may lighten the tone enough to show grain.
