Loved my Inlaws Ty. Sailed easily (if somewhat slow). Actually not that hard with reduced crew if set up with correctly. Would go for this if similar in other ways for reasons already stated.

Strictly a beer and wine guy. Always bottles, although I know plenty of people who say you should only have cans on board for safety.

How small is too small?

Having grown up on a Catalina 22 and now on a p-35, I'd say for that crossing, I personally wouldn't go smaller than something like a cape dory 27.
