thanks for the replies. I understand better now. so if i plan on adding two big tanks for water i could removed some of it. the previous owner said it was already in there when he bought it years...

did you see the picture? does it look like ballast and is that an Ok thing?
it just looks like a pile of rusty bb's. can it be filled or cleaned up so I can actually use the storage under the V...

help!! strange metal/fiberglass stuff, what is it?

hi. i "might" buy this 24' balboa sailboat. i found this pile of rusty old metal pellets/fiberglass beneath the V berth. anyone have a clue what it is or why its there? should i run?
