I see the voids, was hoping someone might be able to identify if this gel coat layer or some attempt at a repair. The boat has several layers of bottom paint but so far I haven't found any blisters....

I don't think you need to be $$$Cash$$$ wealthy, but if it is cash you lack then you need to be frugal and mechanically inclined to be able to own and maintain a proper sailing vessel!

All that boat traffic and like you said most days you don't see a thing out on open sea. Reminds me of the maps that identify airplane traffic, screen usually looks like the air would be littered...

I would travel to the area and look for self storage places, Many of them have storage for RV and boats. I would buy a quiet honda generator, keep things very clean and work out of your storage...
