By the way, the drizzles between the deck/hull are coming on the inside of the cabin. The guy did say that it was spilt drink (and indeed he spilt plenty of drinks) so I'm not sure.

Here is a total list of all my problems: (It just wasn't worth it to get $3000 boats inspected).

I should also mention that I am waiting for results of a skin cancer biopsy. I probably won't be sailing every weekend like I planned when I bought the boat. If the tests come back positive, then I...

Damp Transom Issues

So I recently bought a 1985 Spindrift 22, and I have been doing my best to fix up the leaks and get her in the water to sail. The boat is one of Jim Taylor's designs (he designed Starwinds and...

The tabernacle bolts on my Spindrift 22 seems to have developed a leak. Four bolts run straight through the deck and into the cabin. Water appears to be seaping down one of the screws.

The...

Thanks a lot I read up on that and it doesn't seem to be very hard. Looks like the worst parts will be making a mold and drilling out the hole. How should the drain plug be installed to keep it...

Now that I have a boat, I'm not looking as forward to trailer sailing as I used to.

It would be great to get a wet or dry slip in Ithaca, but apparently Cayuga is a very popular lake.

So I made an offer on a 1985 Spindrift 22. $4799, but it comes with an extremely well kept (possibly newer) trailer and a 2006 Honda 9.9hp outboard with about 15 hours. We haven't done the deal yet...

So I'm really hooked on the Sirius 21 or a San Juan 23. The Sirius will trailer better, but the San Juan is racier.

In the end availability will probably decide it. I'm leaning toward the Sirius...

I'm kinda sold on the Sirius 21. It's easily trailerable, points well, and I love the interior setup. It won't seat a crowd, but I don't plan on...
