Re: Ericson 38, Morgarn 38 or what? Hmmmmm...

Oh man yes it is. I get less concerned about living space the prettier the interior gets.

Ah well then I have heard of potting. I just didn't know there was a name for it. Thanks.

Re: Ericson 38, Morgarn 38 or what? Hmmmmm...

So far the list is Ericson and Morgan 38's but I'll give the Landfall another look.

Re: Ericson 38, Morgarn 38 or what? Hmmmmm...

What does it mean to have "potted" the stanchions? That's a phrase I have not heard before. I'll take a look at the C&C Landfall again. I like the layout and I also prefer the Ericson 38-200 but the...

Re: Ericson 38, Morgarn 38 or what? Hmmmmm...

Thanks. I'll take a better look at the C&C Landfalls. See If I can't find an owners group.

Re: Ericson 38, Morgarn 38 or what? Hmmmmm...

I love the look and interior of the C&C landfall. I understood however that the deck to hull joint is quite problematic and that the deck core is often wet due to design of the stanchion bases not...

Re: Ericson 38, Morgarn 38 or what? Hmmmmm...

Thanks. I'll take a look at the groups site. As far as I can tell Ericson and Morgan are the only two models that fit my criteria. I looked at a boat, I believe it is British made, called a Sigma...

Re: Ericson 38, Morgarn 38 or what? Hmmmmm...

Irwins look like great liveaboards but I don't think they meet the offshore and sailing performance requirements. That's what my research shows anyway. Please tell me if I'm wrong.

Question Ericson 38, Morgarn 38 or what? Hmmmmm...

I am planning on buying a sailboat sometime before Summer 2014. I have an under $50K budget and a pretty specific set of requirements. First let me say that I have poured over Yachtworld and the like...

I don't know? I have no idea how to do that, cut out the wood . What is it replaced with? More wood? How do you replace it? How is the filler that goes in it's place structurally attached to what is...

If I decide to go with the bail I will cut the tab off. Is there anything I should bear in mind when doing this. I know that minor nicks can cause an aluminum small aircraft wing spar to fail. I...

Ah I see, I looked up bail. It's like the ring on the boom that the sheet attaches too. I like it. I'll look into it. However the one thing I like about my idea is that the fill plate and cap wiil...

Thanks for the input. Is the boom vang tab an issue on a lot of trailerable, ie 25 foot or so, boats? And again, how about drying out the wood with the method I described?

Yeah I'll get a pic of it soon but perhaps you misunderstand. The tab doesn't touch the deck until I am lowering the mast. I use a stand or a ladder at the aft end of the boat to keep the mast at an...

Question Lowering mast has gouged a hole in deck

Hello all, I have a 1985 U.S Yacht 25/Pearson 25 and the tang where the boom vang connects at the bottom of the mast has gouged a small hole in the deck aft of the mast after repeated mast lowerings....

I carry a basic Taurus M92 9mm. I only have access to lakes so salt is not an issue but I think it would be generally a bad idea to expose it to a a marine environment. I think I would like to get...
