Different Kind of Wet Deck Question
I just bought a Mercator Offshore 30, Brinestormer. When I had my boat surveyed there were a couple of high moisture areas on the deck around fittings. No big surprise. But here is what's...

A Great Surveyor in the NW
I had a pre-purchase survey down this last weekend. I would recommend this guy to anyone looking for a surveyor. Went over the boat inch by inch inside and out and was very helpful in recommending...

Spruce Mast and Roller Furling
I am buying a Mercator Offshore 30 with spruce spars. It has a roller reefing main that rolls around the boom. I want to modify it for a modern jiffy reefing system. Anyone done this starting with...

Purchasing Brinestormer
Thank you for the information! I made an offer on Brinestormer, which was accepted, survey 10/10 and then hopefully it is mine. Your boat is a step more modern. Brinestormer has a wood, square...

Thanks for the welcome!
I will be keeping the boat in Olympia. Trying to decide between Fiddlehead and Swantown. Any opinions?
Brinestormer gets surveyed 10/10. I will move it to Olympia at the end of the month. Then...

Thank you! And a question about roller main.
The boat is a Mercator Offshore 30 built in 1970.
The jib, genoa and drifter are OK but need to be repaired (small tear), restitched and cleaned (which I'll do).
The cloth of the main is just...

michael.paulson@comcast.net
My son is buying a boat with a dead Atomic 4, so if the engine is still available I would take it away this weekend! He'd be very grateful!

67 Islander 33
Howdy,
I'm looking at a 1967 Islander 33. The boat seems to be in decent enough condition, mostly the normal stuff for a senior citizen, but the deck over the cabin flexes quite a bit, I think...

Mercator
I see it is still for sale. Why did you decide not to buy? I looked at it and am considering. I would also be interested in the Skoog circumnavigation story - Thanks!
