Re: Question: Do you close your seacocks when leaving the boat?

Re: Production Boats and the Limits

What does sail furlers have to do with the thread?????????????????? "Production" boats use the same ones as the "expensive" boats and don't make them themselves. Like most systems on a boat if the...

Re: ASA Course test

Probably as much time "behind the wheel" that someone gets before taking a written exam and a bare minimum driving test before being given a drivers license to drive a car and do what is probably the...

Re: Production Boats and the Limits

You can say anything you want to including saying that I said "at the first disruption of electrical systems, that all ability to control the submarine is lost", which I didn't. Doesn't change the...

Re: Production Boats and the Limits

Re: Production Boats and the Limits

Re: Chucking my propane stove, what to replace it with

Seems crazy for some people to give up propane as a cost issue and use something else :laugher

If you think it is too expensive to install a proper propane system, but cheaper to use those camp...

Re: Production Boats and the Limits

You do the same thing you do with a regular mainsail if the slide gets jammed in the track. You go up the stick to unjam it, or you cut the sail away, or you tie the sail to the mast with lines or...

Re: Production Boats and the Limits

What normally gets lost in this argument against "systems" is that when one does fail (and they don't fail all that much) you just sail the boat the same way you would have if the systems weren't on...

Re: Nine knots! My fastest day so far

I saw 11 knots once on my chartplotter, but unlike others on this thread I didn't really believe that (I'm sure it was not for real because I wasn't crying yet)
