Thanks for the replies. The tube last year was filled with antifreeze. the antifreeze was drained and replaced a couple of days ago, after I realized I had a problem.

Agreed Christian, its hard to see in either pic but there is a single line on the starboard side that runs down to the linkage, I assume to engage, disengage?
