Re: Volvo 2003 Air filter

Obsolete parts are available. There is a listing of dealers for old and obsolete parts on the volvo parts website. I would start w/ French Creek Marine in New York. They have a huge inventory of old...

Re: Groton CT to Branford CT

1st. Invest in towboat or seatow before you go. Well worth the investment if you have a problem.
2nd. look at the weather windows carefully. We've had a lot of really windy days this spring.
If you...

Re: Pogo 50 with in-boom furling.

The sail is a north. We use the battens as our reef points for both the reinforcements and as reference points. The system is a Sailtainer. It uses a spring loaded rigid vang. The angle has to be as...

Re: Pogo 50 with in-boom furling.

I don't see a lot of feed back from owners that actually have in boom furling.
Our current boat came w/ it and I will never look back.
I've had a dutchman, lazy jacks and plain slab flaking on...

Re: Thoughts on Petit Vivid (non-copper) bottom paint?

We used Vivid on the previous boat. Had to clean the bottom weekly. Slime built quickly. We're not racing but I can't stand the look of a dirty bottom.

Re: Do you make guests wear PFDs?

We have several auto inflating vests on board. Most people won't wear uncomfortable bulky orange vests.
My rules are pretty simple.

Is there anyone that can't swim?
If yes, put...

Re: Trouble with Bareboat Catamaran Anchor

I carry 300' of chain. Doubt 120' is enough. In 18' of water I would have at least 140' over night.

Re: House bank

Isolating a starting battery is always a good idea. Blue seas makes a switch that replaces the 1-both-2 switch. Has the exact same foot print. Add a combiner and your done. Easy upgrade.

Re: Should engine mounts be replaced

I installed new mounts on our 36t and it was incredible how much vibration went away. Over time the rubber gets hard. Change them. You won't regret it.
