Re: Get your nose out of your phone!

True story from Georgian Bay. Couple of years ago I was returning from Parry Sound and docked for the night at Henry's on San Sochi ( hope I spelled that right ). I was there for just under 24 hrs....

Re: latest and greatest binoculars?

Some of the peramaters you mentioned were compact, light and storable. While 7x50 is the marine standard, it is also big heavy glass. Steiner makes the most compact 7x50 you can get and its still big...

Re: New CS30

Sorry Albrazzi, my cs30 doesn't have any deck leaks. All I can suggest are the usual, stanchions, and chain plates. Possible hull deck joint, but that is sealed with butyl tape do as long as the...

Re: Bad news for Bay Moorings boaters!

Just back from the labour day weekend. Weather was a mixed bag, but the company was great. Was up at Bosolie Bay ( or how ever you spell it), with Scott, his lovely wife and his dog Ginger. Ran into...

Re: Big Freakin' Sails

Glad you liked Scotland! Oban on a sunny day, you were truly blessed. It was one of my favorite places to go when I was a Kid. Note to self: My son is the only one in the family who has not been back...

Re: Is flying a pirate flag lame?

Pcp, being an art teacher does not automatically make you lame, you just have to work harder at avoiding it. Sailing's a good start, just don't fly a pirate flag.

Re: Is flying a pirate flag lame?

Who gets this worked up over a novelty flag? Is a pirate flag lame? Yes it is, in a annoyingly juvenile sort of way. Why? Well it's got the whole make believe Peter Pan thing going for it. and...

Re: English Boatyard

How did the Brits come to rule the waves? By building ugly ships, thus fuelling a desire to capture someone else's. Also a grim determination to finish a job once it's started. I could also point out...

Re: Violent attack, Cruisers injured, St Vincent & Grenadines, Union Island

Seems like a one off attack, not a trend. They used what ever weapon they could scrounge up quickly to successfully defend themselves. Nobody died. I don't think firearms could have provided a better...

Re: Picture = 1000 words

Just leave the boat there. Can't think of anything that says hazard better than the mast of a sunken sailboat.

Re: Waterspouts Over Lake Michigan

Was sailing from Beckwith island to Penetang on Georgian Bay Thursday evening heading Southwest. Nasty passage, not really sailing just skidding about the Lake. To make the trip even more...

Re: Limits of Captains authority

Just find the captain/admiral thing childish and annoying. Like the whole pirate motif crap.

Re: Air vent for water tank on cs30

It's at the port side of the stern at the top of the hull near the hull/deck joint. It is near the propane locker, but I don't think it's for that. Well I'll be at the boat this weekend and i'll...

Re: Air vent for water tank on cs30
