Re: Florida is at it again

Re: Sea Water Strainer

One needs no reminders that real life bears no USCG approval or shall the well paid surveyor dole out any positives to the o'mighty insurer. After all it's only a masquerade to disguise death's face...

Re: Sea Water Strainer

I often strain my coffee through my thick eye brows but it gets hairy...
You are so right cap...
SO, lesson learned: strainer is always placed slightly below the water line.
Be sure and close...

Re: Florida is at it again

The idea that someone can by lease take away rights of the public to sell to an individual is lacking in legality as much as it is in brain cells but just for argument's sake lets say their lease...

Re: Marelon vs. Bronze

A boat is like your true love!
Who buys their true love a Piece of plastic... ;)

It's not about bestowing riches on the boat. It's about your LIFE and safety!!!
OF course there are skeptics...

Re: Marelon vs. Bronze

The plastics of yesteryear were rarely fiber re-enforced and often inferior. Now they are all over the place in reliability but I feel Marelon is great stuff.
Lightening is not predictable and...

Re: Florida is at it again

Done time as a NIMBY so let me show you some pointers.
All those "helping" the boaters should be suspect... Likely as not, they may work for the homeowners, not the boaters. Anyone with a brain...

Re: Universal won't start

I have a Vetus diesel from that era. When I went through the wiring I found the starter button had a four contact configuration and two were rusted. It's also possible to just push the button...

Re: Florida is at it again

Wow, I thought Florida knew how to make laws... I know I would start with laws about disturbing the peace before kicking boaters out. Are you saying there's no laws to prevent boats or houses from...

I started out with wood and was glad I came in when it was being tossed unceremoniously out.
I was an accomplished big boat sailor at the time I was traded the lazer.
Contemporaries had informed...

Re: Towing a dinghy behind

I was never so ready to trade a boat as my canoe, so when a friend brought me a laser I was ecstatic.

Re: Sea Water Strainer

I had a dirty rat aboard my boat once...
Came up my dock line and then down the anchor chain.
It did thousands in damage in very little time.
Including almost chewing through the seacock line...

Re: How to get back in after falling overboard solo...

The reality is being over weight is not advisable and when up to your neck in the water you find that out. I was dinghy sailing and caught a puff and she went over. I did manage to get back aboard...

Re: LEDs afloat

Re: LEDs afloat

I have had considerable trouble with bulbs at my house and they do burn out. I will return them now and again having bought them at Cosco.
