Re: Mounting hardware on Boom

If you are not sure about drilling and tapping then this product is great. One single bit that does both. Easy to use, you just want to take your time and go slow. I've used this on a couple of...

Re: That sweet sound

Ha! No doubt! The sound of a cash register is music to her ears...just not at a boat store. But it's all good. I don't bother her bout $150 shoes or purse , and she gives me hell about a boat...

That sweet sound

Re: 1977 Ericson 27' for 8,000.. Good deal?

Before looking at the ad it did seem high. And like said, the items like a bimini, dodger, etc. are pricy. But not required for sure. The boat looks well taken care of, which is way more valuable...

Re: 1977 Ericson 27' for 8,000.. Good deal?

Lot might depend on your location. Seems pretty high. There is a nicely maintained Catalina 30 for that here. My C27 was 1/4 of that, and while I needed to put another $2000 into in right away it is...

Re: Mounting Outboard Bracket

The bracket I bought for my Rhodes 19 had specific directions and measurements, along with a template for mounting it correctly. The mechanisms on different models with all vary a little bit.

Re: iPad, built in GPS or bluetooth GPS

It does not require the data plan, but most people would think it absurd to buy the iPad with this capability and not use it.

Everyone makes this too complicated.

The iPad Wi-Fi has no built...

Re: Active Captain question

On the topic of not being clear: like previously posted, the tiles are not meant for navigation. The images they use are not high resolution so when you zoom in it's not clear, like low resolution...

Re: iPad, built in GPS or bluetooth GPS

So the OP understands the wi-fi iPads do not have GPS I think. I only have experience with a couple of iPad 2 models with wi-fi only but the Garmin works fine with it. You do not need a data plan for...

Re: should I be offended?

I don't know...they stop and ask about my Catalina 27 too. Maybe all those ladies just find me interesting. Then again...maybe not.

Re: Silly oil change question

Engine type would be helpful...if it's an A4 you can get a thingy from Moyer Marine that bolts right on and lets you use a pump without snaking it down the dipstick place. Product No. - KTAS_05_90

Re: Chart plotter or IPad

Don't be a tease! Specifics on the case and mount. There is so much rubbish out there it is hard to sift through. That setup looks quite nice!

Re: Best Drone for GoPro???

Re: Sailing in Atlanta?

Lanier is the better choice for sailing. Better depth, much prettier, all around better.

Aqualand is good for me, huge with 1000 plus slips and good self service yard. Depends what side of the...

Re: Boat Purchase Timing ??

Round here now is a pretty good time, at least for boats that need a bit of work. Seems owners get a little tired of paying the slip fee over the winter and give up. In a month or 2 prices will go up...
