I have joined the site. I asked a question about my bowsprit. I'm in the process of replacing. I should really hurry.

I just bought my CD28. I haven't hit the one month anniversary yet.

Re: possible to buy a seaworthy sailboat under $20000 that requires very little fix?

You can totally find a boat you can sail anywhere for under $20,000. It's been done many times. This is a good time to buy. Especially probably at the end of the season on Chesapeake. I would...

Re: Dinghy and Engine Choices

Well, it sounds like you know what you want, and I agree it's a good choice for you. My opinion is that you are oversizing the engine though. Have you ever picked a Yamaha 9.9 up? It is so heavy...

Re: Advice From Young Punks

Oh. Those things. I'm not a fan. I'm more of a backwoods adventurer if you know what I mean. Do you know what I mean? I can explain it. Is there an emoticon for a starfish? I'll have to look....

Re: Advice From Young Punks

To clarify: why altoids? And what are CG's? Coast guard? That doesn't seem to fit. I'll go read the thread on cruisers forum.

Re: Advice From Young Punks

We could use more talk that's not geared to old people ranting about how you can't actually sail your boat...although I don't know how much I care about go pros. I have a rugged camera that I think...

Re: Hopes and dreams. Is this realistic?

For you there is, for some people there is, doesn't make me not right in the head because I hurt your pride. Not everybody has to like the same things you do.

Re: Cape Dory

I've been on a Catalina 42 once. Unfortunately the owner had a cat, I don't think he changed the litter or it sprayed, kinda ruined the experience for me.

Re: Hopes and dreams. Is this realistic?

lol

But you're from Norway, what do you care about the East Coast of the US?

I'm not from California either. It's just my opinion, it seems it's OK for everyone to always trash Cali, but the...

Re: North's ONE continuous q&a thread.

I will start with trying to clean it out with seafoam. I've had good luck with that in the past. If not I'll take the carb apart. Probably another of those things I should know how to do.

Thanks. I saw one of yours in real life this summer up in Washington. Super cool boats. I didn't know what is was, and specifically went up to ask the owners what kind of boat they had because I...

Re: Cape Dory

What do you have now? I have heard the CD25D is super awesome. The smart plug is a nice touch. He really did pay attention to details.

How does it feel without training wheels? Great, I think...

Re: Voyaging on $500 per month

I'm sailing, at least about to, a Cape Dory 28. I am foregoing electronics this time around. I thought about it, in fact, I knew whatever boat I bought wouldn't come with much, and I thought about...

Re: Cape Dory

lol, thanks. before I bought it, I listed that as one of my top priorities. Crisp and clean......and a good engine.

The sails are really nice, but they have dirt from the creases where they...

Re: Cape Dory

I don't have my fixie anymore. I drank too much blue ribbon and while adjusting my trucker hat and tight sweater, I knocked it into the water. It's down there somewhere, but to actually get wet! ...

Re: North's ONE continuous q&a thread.

Thanks. To clarify. It's a four stroke, not empty of fuel, and the vent is open. I will look up petcocks.

I started it today, and I think yesterday I flooded it, as mentioned, because to day it...

I didn't know the manuals were available as downloads these days. I remember them being plastic wrapped and stores having like 100 different ones. Manuals huh, I guess.

Re: North's ONE continuous q&a thread.

I turned two nuts. The cable that goes from the throttle handle has two small nuts that attach the cable inside the housing. I think they are for adjusting the throttle.

This may not be the...
