We picked up one of the less expensive electric reels to use. Found that rigging right determines the size of fish plus no problem to get the fish in without being pulled overboard.

Thanks for the replies. I found the old manuals tucked away in a cabinet. Going to do an inventory of the boxed parts (yes they are mostly external parts) and see how far I can go.
