It appear as though the company that provides our Chat feature recently updated their software and now one of their modules is being 'mis-classified' by Norton/Symantec and possible containing a virus. Until they have this resolved we have de-activaed chat. We've opened a support incident with Envolve and they will hopefully have this corrected soon.

Re: Delaware River Marina questions
How was the weekend at the Penn's Landing marina? From when I've been down there, I don't think it offers much security from the land side (obviously none of them offer much security from the water...

Re: 4hp outboard motor questions
I think I've just ruled out the Honda 2 hp - it doesn't have reverse. It has a swivel mechanism and has to be turned around to go in reverse. I imagine for someone with experience that isn't a big...

Re: 4hp outboard motor questions
Thank you to everyone that has chimed in; I appreciate all the advice.
The boat is indeed a Flying Scot. The manufacturer says the max is 4hp. I think many owners don't put a motor on at all,...

Re: Delaware River Marina questions
Thanks for all of the responses.
I've put in some calls to several marinas (I won't name names) and haven't heard anything back. Is there a secret code to get people to call back? Is email...

4hp outboard motor questions
Hello,
I'm in the process of buying a 19ft daysailor. I have some sailing experience (ASA 101 plus a bunch of charters), but this is my first owned boat.
I have some questions on a motor. ...

Thank you both for the responses. I appreciate the focus on safety - that's what I'm most concerned with as well. That's why I'm asking lots of questions - I figure there's a reason people aren't...

Re: Delaware River Marina questions
Thank you very much for the feedback.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of hauling for the winter?
My understanding is that much further south the norm is to keep the boat in the water...

Delaware River Marina questions
I'm looking for advice on which marina along the Delaware River to use.
Here's what I'm thinking:
1. I'm looking for a wet slip for a Flying Scot, 19 foot daysailor.
2. I live in downtown...

Re: O'Day 25 difficult to turn?
I believe it was down (and sure hope so!). The marina pointed to a line and said that's the swing keel - don't touch it. The line was short, which made me think the keel was down (i.e., if the line...

O'Day 25 difficult to turn?
I chartered an older (I'm guessing '80s) O'Day 25 for a day on a lake. The wind was light to moderate. It had a swing keel (or maybe something similar, but the marina called it a swing keel).

Re: Philadelphia Area Sailing for a Novice on a 25' SK
Ulldah,
Thanks, but I didn't receive a PM. I have received another one from someone else, so I believe the account is fine to receive PMs.
Is there something else I need to be doing to see it?
