Got about 95% of the paint removed and have been able to take a good look at the bottom. It appear to be severe crazing. There are quite a few pics on my blog of what I uncovered.

I see the voids, was hoping someone might be able to identify if this gel coat layer or some attempt at a repair. The boat has several layers of bottom paint but so far I haven't found any blisters....

I don't think you need to be $$$Cash$$$ wealthy, but if it is cash you lack then you need to be frugal and mechanically inclined to be able to own and maintain a proper sailing vessel!
