Re: Rigging Replacement and StaLocks

If you have the know how, I don't see why you couldn't do yourself. I ordered Hi-Mod and wire and replaced all my rigging myself shortly after buying my boat. Not a problem using the same fittings on...

Re: Anybody missing a sailboat in the Exumas

So if the guy is in custody, wouldn't the authorities be responsible For the boat? What would then happen to it if not looted in the meantime?

Re: 218 yr old USS Constitution is getting a refit

I was wondering how the dry dock worked considering when it was built and found this picture.

Re: 218 yr old USS Constitution is getting a refit

The USS Constitution is also on my list to visit. I thought it's nice that they're still going to allow visitors during the refit. Looks like it'll be a nice bonus to see her out of water too.

Re: PSS Dripless maintenance

I've used vinegar to clean a raw water pump and a prop so I think it's worth a try. I let each soak until the bubbling I saw stopped then scrubbed the dirt/residue off.

Re: Airmail or RMS Express

I tend to use Airmail more for ham and sailing use. I have used RMS before but only with MARS activities and last used a few years ago. You could always try it out, and switch back if you like.

Re: Maybe smaller is not so bad?

I might be able to attend. I'm in the middle of moving from Tennessee to Virginia so I'll have to see how the timing works out.

Looks like it might be a fun event. Thanks for the reminder.

I thought the same. I've had my eye on one of these Northeaster Dory's (http://www.clcboats.com/shop/boats/wooden-sailboat-kits/northeaster-dory-rowing-sailing-kit.html).

Probably good to get...

Re: Running Diesel on the Hard

I have a Yanmar 2GM that does shake a bit when in idle. It does smooth out when going just above idle speed. If your engine shakes a lot, see if going just above idle will settle its movement.

Re: Found This Bristol for Sale - Thoughts for New Sailors?

Agree to all. :D

Even if you don't have the budget to fix/repair/upgrade now, doesn't mean you won't be able to later. I know the desire to get in the water quickly and go sailing. I'm working on...

You can try looking at the charts yourself.

I'm working on removing my bottom now. I got a couple layers each of blue and red. I figured the red was either primer or just a contrasting color, but looks like going straight to gel coat.

Re: '84 Hunter 31 weird Keel-Hull joint
