Battery Temperature Compensation for Balmar and Newmar

I am wondering if anyone knows the specs on the battery temperature sensors for a Newmar TCS 12/24 and Balmar mc-ts-b.

Looking online, these things are ~$50 each for what are probably $2 worth of...
