Agree with anchor weights but think you should go with all chain anchor cable on your main anchor of at least 60 metres - you can permanently attach a 20 metre rope rode after this for emergency/cut...

I cannot reccomend the "Ship to Shore" books highly enough. They give you great recipies using locally available supplies and include a directory of places and shops where you can provision easily....
