Re: Worst Sailboats Ever!

Last year while my wife and I were taking a sailing course in Rock Hall, Md, there was a group of Macgregor owners(probably 15 Mac's) having a group outing at the marina we were staying at. Other...

Two weeks ago while sailing(motoring) on a friends boat on the Chesapeake we were passed by a Macgregor 26X, we were trudging along at about 2 1/2 knots against...

Re: FOUND: Good Old Boat

Great write ups! I love my Compac 16, however, I wouldn't consider it being a cruiser. It would be like overnighting in a coffin. I also considered moving up to the Compac 23, but having a family...

Re: This is hope! (3 young adults fix P30 and head out to sea)

Great video, I wish I had been more adventurous when I was younger! I'm too busy living the "American Dream" to go on an adventure like that now... I find it amusing that we are bashing them for...

Re: "Free boat" seaworthiness

It's back up on evilbay! What's up with the deck? Does it have teak decking in spots, or did they try an simulate a wooden deck in fiberglass? My guess is the picture are from before it sank...

Re: "Free boat" seaworthiness

Jack, have you considered crewing on others boats? For example, I'll be overnighting and crewing on a friends 28' Catalina this weekend, some of us are always looking for crew just to get out and...

re: "Free boat" seaworthiness

No, I haven't been down that way. I frequent Spruce Run reservoir in NJ and Lake Nockamixon in Pa with the Compac 16. The Starwind 22 in my avatar was also free, but has required more work and $$$....

re: "Free boat" seaworthiness

I have 2 "free" boats. Which is a lie, because both have cost me a fair amount of money. The biggest issue besides all the work, is can you even get legal ownership of this boat? Next, is the...
