A friend of mine who used to work in an outdoor ed centre collect the used ropes and plaited them together into a 300 mtr drag rope for running off in storms ,dont think he ever tried them .K

Same principle as basic wind generator AC output voltage dependannt on speed . needs rectificaton (half wave will do) and probably a dump regulator to prevent overcharging. .K

Not sure about military not shutting gps down .A few years ago we were approaching the azores and at 23 .50 gps signal went off then on again at 23.55 same thing and then at 00 hrs off completely...
