Dream of Sailing as a living

Jeff & James,

James, I''d stay away from Pacific Seacraft if you don''t want to pay a heafty price. You can buy two Beneteau 42cc''s for one 42ft P.S. And from what I''ve read (since I can''t...

Thoughts on a Beneteau 42CC

Hey, I''ve been checking out the C42, Hunter 411, and just found the Beneteau 42CC. My impression is that I love the 42CC. I''m looking for a spacious live aboard boat that can handle bluewater,...

2 Here to Crew if you teach.

I apologize, if above sounds weird (not a novelist that''s for sure). I meant that I know where to find a dinghy to learn on without purchasing it, but I don''t know anybody with a big boat to learn...

2 Here to Crew if you teach.

Duanne,

Thank you for the input, but getting a dinghy to go sail on is easier than finding someone with a "big boat" to teach us on it. I''m just starting early, that way I''m not rushing things...

2 Here to Crew if you teach.

My fiancee and I are looking for a boat, preferably in the 30-40ft range, that has a captain willing to teach newbies. We''re in the process of signing up for USCG classes, but we need some hands on...

Dream of Sailing as a living

I thank you both for your input, especially on what to look for between offshore and coastal cruisers. Yes I did mean a C42, gotta love the blissfulness of ignorance. That is the model we are...

Dream of Sailing as a living

I also ask for some opinions on a boat good for long-term cruising. I''ve been looking at a C420 and 470, but like I said...I''m rather new and not quite sure what to look for in a good boat. It...

Dream of Sailing as a living

Now I am a long way off from reaching my dream; still have to learn to, and get a boat, for one. But I have no clue as to what kind of costs to expect at Marinas, maintenance, and just general...

Looking for Sailing Lessons

Might I add, that I can do live-aboard for like over-nights, but nothing long. I am a US Marine Corps Reservist, so if integrity or character issues are hindering you, I hope that they are dampend...

Looking for Sailing Lessons

I am new to the whole sailing experience, but I am lost after taking the USCG Classes. Right now, I''m just formulating a plan, and waiting for the next USCG class to start. I understand that...
