Re: C&C 33 mk1 vs 34 vs Landfall 35

Raced my C&C 35/3 from Annapolis to bermuda. The 34 is similar, the Landfall is the cruising line. Lots of LF38s, the 35 is fairly rare. I'd sail a C&C almost anywhere, and get there a lot faster...

Denise,
Sad day, but she looks great!
Take down the canvas! Some yards won't even haul with it on.

Re: Battery Charging question

While the engine was running you should have been able to power everything off the alternator. If not, it is bad. What did you have running that both batteries were dead? A bilge pump should not...

Re: First Boat Help: 1984 Hunter 34 or 1983 Catalina 30

There is a C&C 34 on craigslist in Annapolis for 14k that will sail circles around both if it is in good condition.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

Cats were definitely over-represented!

Lots of German mainsheet systems. The better ones ran main and jib to clutches and then a single winch within reach of the helm. Otherwise, impossible to...

Re: Pacific Seacraft 63' ketch nears completion

Small cockpit for a 63? Set up for a couple to cruise?

Bob, thought you did not like pointy ends on both ends of a boat.

Re: USCG Boarding Procedures

I'd ask for time to put out fenders! Otherwise, CG dictates the procedure.

Re: Annapolis boat show

Best food is not near the dock. Try O"leary's and Carroll Creek in Eastport, Level on West St.
Make reservations.
Dozens of boats, countless vendors, lots of sale merch, good way to spend a day.

Re: c&c 34 1981 Pictures, Bad?

That is not just a C&C "smile" repair; it indicates much more extensive work. I would be careful, but if done properly it is not a deal killer.

Re: Need Audio Amp -Bluetooth Direct to Speakers

I would not want people using earbuds or listening to music while on watch. You can hear sails luffing etc. when it is quiet. Try sailing with cotton stuffed in your ears!
Offwatch = earbuds.

Re: Very Good Vendor Thread

Atlantic Spars in Annapolis.

They were able to weld a broken aluminum hatch frame and did a bunch of other work on my boat for less than the price of a new hatch. Marc always takes care of me!

re: Anyone ever buy bigger or new and regret it?

Moved from a Pearson 28 to a C&C 35. Can still single-hand her. Bigger winches compensate for bigger loads! No, no regrets!

Re: Exceeding Hull Speed in Flat Water: Fantastic Sailing in Ideal Conditions

Jim,

Its hard to believe her PHRF is 189. Wish I had raced her, as she outsails "faster" boats regularly. You have made a great boat even better over the last 3 years.
It was a great day on the...
