Re: Raise the main sail while still at anchor

Just to clarify: I don't want to sail off, I just need to get the main up and reef before I get out of the confines of the "calm anchorage". Yesterday I was coming out of an anchorage in Reedville,...

Re: Airhead in PSC 37?

Scupper: what is your head orientation? Bow -stern or port-stbd? I've heard these composting heads do not work well separating #1 and #2 when heeled on heads oriented port-stbd.

Re: Heaving To with the 37

Sailak: I'm pretty sure that is the correct angle to the wind while hove too. Check out John Kretchmer's (sp) book on the subject. The Pardeys also deploy a parachute anchor to windward to stop...

I am looking to replace the air filter. Apparently the PO used an aftermarket filter on the engine. The old silencer (not installed) is a rust bucket. The silencer is an obsolete part, unavailable...

Re: 2015 Sailing Season on the Chesapeake

Finished my abreviated 1 week spring cruise on Sunday. Because of the unsettled weather and consistent north winds we opted for staying inside the Bay and not straying too far from home waters. Day...
