Aqua-Buff

I was hired to buff the white topsides of a 60 foot boat that had not been done for at least six years. Aqua-Buff was suggested as was Starbrite with PTEF. So was wet sanding. I set up scaffold and...

Re: Fairing The Keel

Oliver -
I was pleased to see that the crack was not as big last fall at haulout as it was the year before. I haven't torqued the keelbolts yet this spring as I have been concentrating on rebedding...

Re: Removing stanchions...

When I bought my boat there were two rather large holes cut in the liner to mount a rope clutch and winch. I covered the holes with 1/2 inch thick pieces of oiled mahogany.

You could use a hole...

Re: 24 Mirage speed to windward

It's amazing how much faster my GPS measured speed is compared to the paddlewheel driven knotmeter on the boat.
I'm encouraged!:)

Re: Caulk for toerail...

Caulking the way you suggest may not help much if at all and could create new pockets for water to collect. But, if that is what you want to do use 4200 because it will remain flexible and can be...

I recall a 37 Apache I saw in WI that had glass decks with wood-like appearance molded into the glass. I don't know about the core material.

Re: Sailing Movies and TV shows

Waterworld...
... isn't a great movie but the sailboat is. The rig really worked as shown. Dennis Hopper's performance is classic.
The 1937 version of Captains Courageous is the good one.

Re: I hate boats...

I have two questions about the oil and water flow through the Ford Lehman system.
1. Is oil under pressure from the pump to the cooler before it goes back into the engine oil galleries?
2. Does...

I'm guessing you are sailing Milwaukee. Lots of room to sail inside the breakwater. SW winds are forecast. The water in the lake might be as flat as in the harbor.

I am more concerned about fog on...
