Re: Galilee 15 Replacement Daggerboard?

Find a picture and make your own??? I bought an Eli dinghy, and they gave me a hunk of plywood. Not finished plywood....a hunk of bare lumber. Had it not been a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there, I...

Re: Ye better start believin"

I don't consider Somali thugs to deserve the name of pirate. Anyone can grab an automatic rifle and a RIB and go after unarmed ships. Historical pirates (and please don't think that I'm ignoring...

Re: Ye better start believin"

Well, with that one being wrapped to prevent chafing I'm guessing it wasn't used for slaves. The reality of pirates doesn't live up to the romance, for certain. Still, historical evidence suggests...

Aubrey-Maturin.

Been reading a lot of books on whaling lately. In the Heart of the Sea was really good. Heck of a story. Whale Ships and Whaling by Church has some great pictures and a pretty...

Re: Complete Newbie...No Idea What I'm Doing...

I've finally started working on my plan:

-Buy a $350 sailing dinghy for a local lake. Learn how to sail it this summer.
-Start saving money.
-Take some local Power Squadron/USCGAux...

Re: Baby Barnacles

No, you misunderstood the law. The native tribes are still allowed a limited harvest, but they have to harpoon them from polar bear skin canoes. The real problem isn't the desire to hold the...

Re: Anyone have an Eli dinghy???

If you can scan the paperwork, you can email me at william.horning@gmail.com. Measurements and a good pic of the daggerboard would probably be good enough.....get me in the ballpark.

Re: What do you have for a cannon?

I've been thinking that one of these needs to make an appearance on my boat. Living in Maryland, and more specifically Montgomery County, somehow I think it may be problematic.

I just bought one, but it didn't have the daggerboard with it (they did, however, throw in a rectangle of unsealed plywood with a peg through it). Does anyone have an original that they could send...

Re: New to sailing...rigging question
