A search for Seafarer Yachts returned 5 people with "Seafarer" in their names - go figure - but no groups. So much for FB requiring users...

Personally I think that's an awful idea - not only would maintenance access be difficult, it would look hideous and it would be hard to sail: besides the weight, the added wind resistance at the top...

Sir Francis Chichister has been mentioned previously, but the most amazing autobiography I have ever read is his "The Lonely Sea and The Sky", now sadly out of print, but absolutely worth the effort...

When I first started to sail with my parents as a teenager (early 60s), we had a clinker-built (lapstrake) dinghy with a massive cast-iron centerboard called a Coot, I believe about 15 or 16 feet...
