The S-34 was designed by Vladimir Plavsic (of Kanata fame). The first one, Speirhead, was built for the world 3/4 Ton's when they were held in Victoria - '78 IIRC.

O/K I found an old book with the details on it - the name was changed to North-West 650. Designed in 1973 by John Brandlmayr which makes it just about his best looking boat ever. :wink

SAE tapers are 1:16 and 1:12 (generally smaller shafts use 1:16 and larger ones above 3" or so are 1:12). Metric tapers are 1:10 and 1:20.
