Carrier (Pilot) Bearing Replacement

I recently read a thread where someone posted the part number for this bearing, and I found it online.

Does anyone know the proceedure for replacing this bearing? Do I have to haul her out to do...

Re: Morgan Out Island 413,- Who Else is Active?

Ours is pretty noisy, too. I found the bearing that you posted the part number for, online, and bought one. How did you replace yours? On the hard? Did you have to take the rudder off to slide...

Re: Getting Started with Liveaboard Life

We ended up, after four boats, with a Morgan 41 Out Island. Center cockpit, beamy, lots of room. You might look at them, too. They are within your price range.

Re: Morgan 41 Out Island

I completely agree, Gary.

On our recent trip to Catalina Island, we anchored at Little Harbor (remote and on the backside of the island), which can be a rolly when the tide comes in breaking over...

Re: Morgan 41 Out Island

So you found my video, eh? We just purchased her about a month ago, and recently did a shakedown to Catalina Island. Videos to follow.

When looking at boats, and we are on our fourth and final, I...

Raymarine A78 Display and Autohelm ST4000

Anyone tried to interface these two? Our new boat has the ST4000 on it, and I just bought the A78/radar package. Need to interface it through SeaTalk.

Re: Refrigerator Box Design

Not crazy. Redundancy is always good. The problem I still have with the boxes is that it appears they will need to run longer and will required more daily AH to run. We currently have a similar...

Re: Buy this deal, or pass?

I just bought the Raymarine A78/Radar package from West Marine. Just want to warn those that might be looking at this one, that it has the WiFi disabled. They do not state that the A78 is a...

Re: Refrigerator Box Design

Thanks. I did look into these, and they are very tempting. The problem I have with them is that, although they do really sip current, they don't appear to be as efficient as a cold plate for daily...

Re: 1978 OI 41 Keel

Yes, thanks. I have read this and understand that Classic was a fin keel. I think it must be the full keel version, although my friend swears it is fin. Time to break out the GoPro.

1978 OI 41 Keel

We are about to take possession of a 1978 41 OI. We are told that it is the 3/4 fin keel version, but everything I have read tells me that Morgan did not make a fin keel.

Anyone know anything...

Re: My 11 year plan!

This hits all of us from time to time. If I simply don't drink alcohol the night before we are off, then I am fine. Other rules of thumb are:

Don't go below unless you have to, and then only...

Re: Refrigerator Box Design

I do like the Little Wonder. I like that it is self-contained and has a 12 volt motor, as opposed to others that need to be run through an inverter or genset. It is within our budget, so I think...

Re: Refrigerator Box Design

When we finally untie the lines, the plan is that we will not be coming back. We will be heading into the south Pacific for retirement, and have no plans to come back to the U.S. We plan on hitting...

Re: Refrigerator Box Design

I am still leaning towards larger. We will have a separate freezer that is around 2-3 cubic feet, so the refer section could be smaller.

I do agree with going as large as we can. We plan on...

Re: Refrigerator Box Design

Yes it is quite large. I'm thinking of pruning down the refer space to around 5 square feet. I agree with Denise in that it is rather easy from a design standpoint, but I need to pay close...

Re: Refrigerator Box Design

Good things to keep in mind. Before we did the Norcold on the Columbia, we had an engine-driven cold plate system. I did not want that system because I didn't want to have to start the diesel to...

Re: Refrigerator Box Design

Thanks, all.

I did the research on the Engel, and I really like the idea. The problem is that they are a bit small. We will need something larger - more like 7-10 square feet. That is why I'm...

Refrigerator Box Design

We have a problem that I'm trying to solve.

We are purchasing a Morgan 41 OI from someone that was a liveaboard. They tore out the cabinet that housed the refrigerator, and put in a standard...
