Have not experienced a wind bomblet but we have days where it blows 20-25 with gusts of 30-40. That is the kind of wind that breaks stuff not to mention exhausting.
If we are racing and it pipes up...

Broken mast, spreader casting tore out of the side of it leaving a 4" x 4" hole. Did not get dis-masted but it ended the season last year 4 weeks early.

If I am understanding you correctly you have two furling sails, 100% and 150%, one sail will rollup clockwise and the other counter-clockwise.
