Re: Grampian flip over?

Cool boat, Matt. Never saw a stern cockpit cap, ill call it, or a stern mounter rudder. Looks post 1970, judging by the steel toerail. Im guessing they moved the rudder to the stern to make way for...

Re: Battery Charger Recommendations

Check out harbor freight, I think they have a 1.5 or 2 watt solar trickle charger. That should keep it up, anything bigger and youll want a protecter to keep from overcharging. Just keep the bird...

Admittedly, my knowledge of inboards is limited, but I have seen my friend tinker with his stuffing box on a 1920's 42' double ender. He used this web site as a reference.

Re: buying advice?

I got a 26' Grampian for you to buy! Im joking, I keep. But I second JonBs notion of buying the smallest boat that fits your needs, not the largest you can manage.

In addition, $160k will get you...

Re: Whats up with my keel?

I can tell from pictures that mine is not a 4'3" fin keel...But what about the possibility that it is the elusive shoal draft, with no CB?
The draft depth should be a good tell, and I'd say off...

Re: What's your biggest bonehead move sailing?

End of last season, I decided to build and employ a GIN pole for stepping/unstepping the mast on my Grampian 26, because, why am I going to pay $100 to step, and $100 unstep my mast every year when I...
